Small-batch cattle, goats & sheep

Goat program

Goats for small acreage and working land — selected for temperament, thriftiness, and practical care notes (without inflated claims).

Designed for practical owners

Goats that fit real schedules.

Whether your goal is brush control, building a small breeding group, or adding goats to a homestead, the biggest win is usually predictability: animals that settle, respect fencing, and handle routine care.

  • Temperament & handlingWe prioritize goats that do well with calm, consistent interaction.
  • ThriftinessWe look for goats that hold condition appropriately for our environment and management style.
  • Mothering and group behaviorWhen history is available, we consider kidding outcomes and herd dynamics.
  • Fit checks for new ownersWe ask about fencing, shelter, and predator pressure — because those are the usual pain points.

Good fits for this program

Common situations where buyers find our goat groups helpful.

Brush control & pasture cleanup

You want goats that are comfortable living outdoors and moving as a group with a steady routine.

Homestead starter herd

You’re new and want a calmer, more predictable first experience — plus a checklist that reduces surprises.

Building a small breeding group

You want animals with practical mothering traits and a realistic path to growing a sustainable herd.

Planning & timing

We plan around seasons and healthy transitions.

Goats do best with a calm transition. We’ll talk through timing so you can avoid unnecessary stress around weather swings or major management changes.

Best pickup windowsOften spring or fall, depending on your setup and local weather.
New ownersWe recommend planning your first pickup when you can monitor closely for a few days.
Group sizeMost goats settle better with at least a small companion group.

Goat program FAQ

Quick answers to help you decide whether to reach out.

Do you sell single goats?
Sometimes, but goats are herd animals and usually do better with a companion. If you need a single animal, tell us why (companion for an existing goat, etc.) and we’ll advise honestly.
Are your goats dairy or meat type?
Our focus is practical, hardy goats and small groups that fit working land and homesteads. Type can vary by season. If you have a specific goal (milk, brush control, meat), share it and we’ll discuss fit.
Do you provide vaccination/deworming schedules?
We share our notes and what we’ve done, but programs should be tailored to your region. Work with your veterinarian; we can share what we know and what we track.
Can you guarantee they won’t escape?
No. Fence testing is normal goat behavior, especially in the first days after a move. We’ll give practical setup tips, but containment depends on fencing quality and management.
Do you offer starter bundles for new owners?
When available, yes — small groups that are easier to manage. Ask about timing and we’ll let you know what’s realistic.
What do you need from me to get a recommendation?
Tell us your acreage, fencing type, shelter, predator pressure, and goal (brush, breeding, milk, companionship). Include your timeline and we’ll reply with a clear next step.

New to goats? We’ll keep it simple.

Describe your setup and your goal. We’ll respond with what to fix first (if anything) and what a realistic starter group looks like.
